Crysis 13-03-2008  Article: Platform: PC Developer: Crytec Publisher: Electronic Arts Genre: First Person Shooter Story A big asteroid has hit one of the islands of North-Korea. The government is evacuating the whole island as fast as possible... The American government reacted on that action by sending special forces to the island. The job is to research the whole situation and to report it to the Pentagon. Of course will this cause a big war between North-Korea and America... You will fight against the Korean forces and your objective is to rescue the professors from the island. Until a third enemy appears out of the asteroid... The aliens are invading the earth! Those aliens are trying to create a new ice-age with a gigantic biological weapon. And the invasion of the earth has begun.  Gameplay, levels and abilities! It all starts with exploring the abilities of the player. The first thing we did is trying out the Nanosuit his powers! The power depends on how much energy you've got. And if the energy get's to zero, your special power will be unavailable and the energy will be regenerating. But don't worry... It won't take to long. You are even able to upgrade your weapons with lasers, scopes and silencers. The level itself is huge. But you'll play parts of the big level when you follow the objectives. The objectives are based on the cool story that's connected. You will be sucked into a story that almost looks like a movie! And there is much freedom in the game. You can walk free trough the area and choose your path. It's all your choice! You are even able to destroy complete houses, tree's and other physics related objects! Graphics The game has the best graphics that we've have ever seen in a game before. Nice special effects, realistic water and much bushes/tree's to fill the whole island. Of course are there small villages, military camps and a harbor to destroy! The minimum and recommended specifications aren't low too. My computer was able to run it on "Medium" but not 100% smooth. But I didn't downloaded the recommended drivers for this game to fix that. Crysis was really eye-candy that you need to see once!  Sounds The music really fits in the game. It will give a spooky/exciting/adventure feeling that you'll search in such a great adventure. Guns/objects will sound realistic and with a good sound card/5.1 speakerset, you're able to hear surround sound. There isn't much to tell about the rest of the sounds. It's good and has no bugs as far as I know. Crysis intro video Our conclusion The game is extremely good but has a bad ending. That really disapointed us because we'd like to see a good ending for a game. Atleast, the ending was something what we didn't expect to happen. But it has a reason to end like this. Crysis 2 will continue where you've ended Crysis 1. There will be three episodes of Crysis. Anyway, the graphics, storyline and sounds/feeling is really makes it worth to play! We give it 5 of the 5 stars! It deserves it! Productrating:
