Age of Empires 3 18-03-2008  Article: Platform: PC Developer: Ensemble Studios Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios Genre: Strategy What is it about? Age of empires III is playing in years of 1500. It's about the colonisation of the 'new world' called America. The goal of this game is the same as in previous versions: You have to destroy the enemy with your powerfull army.  Gameplay! You can choose a few civilizations: Spanish, British, French, Portugese, Russian, Ottoman, German and the Dutch. When you start a game, you begin with a Towncenter and some resources. You can built villagers with your towncenter and level up to the next age. There are totally 5 ages. In chronological order:
 In the Imperial Age, you can built and improve everything. When you attack or built you can earn XP-points, which you can use for your 'cards' and lvl-up. You can get free stuff with a card (like villagers, resources, little armies). Each other civilization has their own cards and specialisations in armies and economy. The higher your lvl, the more cards you can choose. The Dutch can built Banks that produce coin and can build very strong Halbediers for exhibit. The population-limit is set on 200, which could be higher... It's to limited to build huge armies. We think that the Online option is very cool, but the campaign story is very good too. Because it is based on reality. Game contents Game modes include:
Online rules Terms you have to know online: HM rule (Halfmap): Don't build on the other half of the map NR rule (No Rush): An agreed time where you won't attack eachother Age of Empires 3 intro Good and bad... + a different and new 'time' than the most other strategy games. + very good graphics (3D) + The game modes are very good (we like the Online and campaign the most) + Good idea with the cards, which give you a boost - population limit is set on 200 - Sometimes problems with the Online mode of Age of Empires Conclusion It's a very good game! The graphics are good, the physics are awesome and the gameplay is good too! The only big disadvantage is the population limit and the problems with the online mode. But you have many options to play and the story-modus is great to. This game will provide much fun for single- and multiplayer! But this game deserves 5/5 stars! Productrating:
