Battlefield Heroes! What?

Ever heard of the new Battlefield Heroes?
It will be a FREE ONLINE cartoony SHOOTER that is available in the summer of 2008.
But what is it about?
You'll play as soldier from the World War 2 that needs to defeat the enemy. It's something like Battlefield 1942 but in a cartoon style.

Classes

You'll have the choice to pick your favorite class like in the previous Battlefield series.
Each class has their own unique abilities like "seeing enemy soldiers faster" and more...
Your player will be able higher in ranks too! The rank will have effect on your special ability.


Idea of Electronic Ars...

Electronic Arts wanted to create a game that has the following specifications:

  • We wanted to return to the crazy unrealistic feel of Battlefield 1942 and Codename Eagle, games which we had both been fans of.
  • We wanted to make sure that players could ‘get to the fun’ easier this time - faster, cheaper and easier.
  • We were committed to ensuring that the gameplay would still feel like a legitimate part of the Battlefield franchise, with the core elements and feel preserved.

The game will have the Battlefield 2142 engine inside and is much easier to patch (in the future).
And why is this game free? Because Electronic Arts will earn money from the in-game advertising.

System requirements...

The minimum specifications aren't very high like we expect from a cartoony shooter.

  • Operating System: Windows XP or Windows Vista
  • CPU: 1.0 GHz
  • RAM: 512 Mb (1Gb on Windows Vista)
  • Video Card: 64Mb DirectX compliant video card with at least pixel shader 2.0 support
  • Hard Drive space: 1Gb of space is required to install the game
  • Internet connection: 256kbit Cable/DSL connection




Our thoughts...

We think that Battlefield Heroes could be a great success! It's a totally free game, it has low system specifications and the gameplay looks very cool (if we take a look at their trailer).
The only thing we can do is waiting for it's release...

Because we can not tell everything before it's released. To many rumours are floating trough the internet.

Second of all, a PREVIEW doesn't tell all about the game. A review does that job.<r>
