Legendary: The box 29-06-2008  Article: Platform: PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 Developer: Spark Publisher: Atari Genre: first person shooter Release: middle/end 2008 (not known precisely) Legendary's mythology The title itself has a mysterious feeling. And the game itself is even more mysterious! It has a story that nobody ever saw in a first person shooter! Myths and legends where quite normal in the old Greek civilization. But not in this time... What if they are true...?  The story! This is the most interesting part of the whole game (atleast, it's not released yet). It's something that history has brought back to life! Pandora's box is no legend (in the game)! In the Greek mythology, the lives of gods and men were close together. Gods where using humans in their reckless games like the story of Pandora's Box... It all started with a practical joke. At a gathering between gods and men, the god Prometheus (Defender of the humans) presented the great god king Zeus with two sacrificial offerings. The first appeared to be the stomach of an ox. The second appeared to be a collection of ox fat. But the point here is that Prometheus has hidden the (best) meat for Zeus to offer it to the humans. Zeus discovered this accident and he hide the "secret of fire" for mortals. Prometheus responded on the action of Zeus. He stole the "secret of fire" and send it down to Earth. Zeus' revenge for this act was much worse than calculated. To punish humans for the gift they had been given against his will, Zeus created a beautivul girl called Pandora. But what is so evil about a girl? Pandora was just a normal girl with the skills of a human. But some skills could be dangerious! Like the skill "curiosity" could trigger people to do things that aren't good. The brother of Prometheus (Epimetheus) fell in love on the girl when he saw her. Prometheus warned his brother to stay away, but Epimetheus, being the more foolish and lovesick of the brothers, decided to marry the creature/girl because of the beauty of the girl. He was blinded by the beauty of her... Epimetheus almost failed to notice a strange box that she has brought into their house. It was a present from Zeus with a warning on it. "Do not open" was written on the box. The life of the Greek was good for a time until Pandora couldn't keep herself from staring at the box. Of course the curiosity was very strong! But the warning tells enough... She even began to hear soft voices coming out of the box! It were gentle, soft and convincing voices that say "Let us out! Let us out!". The obsessions with the box were to big and convinced here to open the box! Evil creatures flew very fast out of the box! Pandora closed the box very fast. She was very scared! Luckely one value didn't left the box... It's still inside... Trapped in the box... The final chapter of "Pandora's box" is yet to be written... Charles Deckard is an professional Art Thief and turns into a hero that needs to save the world! (You can guess what happends...)  Characters The game will have many faces! You will meet some characters and enemies that are in the game. We'va made a list of them to make it easier. Charles Deckard  He is a masterpiece in disarming security systems. That's one of the reasons he is a well known chriminal on the black market. He is specialized in weapon-handling, electronic devices and stealing art. Charles is worth every penny that someone invests in him. Vivian  Vivian Kane is born in South Africa to a wealthy British parents. She is graduated in Engineering and Archaeology at the Oxford university. She is recruted by the "Black Order" and is a succesfull field agent. Le Fey  Le Fey is a member of the "Black Order" and he's not your typical partron of illegal art. He is very rich and is very interested in the powers of "Pandora's box". Clans and organisations There are organisations and clans involved with "Pandora's box" that will have impact on the game. Those clans have the mission to protect the earth and to be sure that no-one opens the box again... But will they succeed? Council of 98 The Council of 98 is a clan/organisation that considers itself as the "guardian of humanity". Council 98 is created in ancient times by a small group of humans. They have made an artifact (An old important object. Has nothing to do with videocards this time.) to unwrap the most dangerious objects in the world that's called "Pandora's box". Trough the centuries, the Council has focussed on human developement. Of course are they watching the whole subject carefully to be sure that this box doesn't be opened again! Black Order This is a clan that has split up with the "Council of 98" because they disagree about the use of the box. They saw the artifact as a gift and believe that they have the right to use "Pandora's box" as they saw it. This conflict has caused a full-scale war between those clans.  Creatures Spark has chosen the most fearsome creatures out of the mythology world. It can cause a lot of fear, excitement and fun! Here's a list of animals that you can see in the wild game! Just be sure to have your camera and gun near you! Kraken Tales of an giant octopus/squid monster are very known in the myth's/ The body itself can grew as large as an Island. These creatures are living in the big oceans and are live around Norway. Alpha wolf In mythology, the werewolf, or lycanthrope is a person who transforms into a wolf-like creature during the full moon. In fact, the Alpha wolf isn't a human that's transformed. It's a dominant wolf that has something from the apes and wolf family. The Alpha wolf is a brother of the werewolf but more aggressive and dominant. Werewolf Werewolfs are transformed humans (that are infected) into a wolf-like creature. Humans can get infected if they are bitten by a werewolf. Those creatures have always empty stomaches and work in groups/packs like real wolfs do. It will cause the "feeling" to hunt the prey down to feed their hunger. Minotaur This is a half bull and half human creature. It has horns to hurt the enemy and can cause a lot of damage. Minotaurs legend started with this story: Minos struggled with his brother (humans) for the right to rule. Minos prayed to Poseidon (god of the sea) to send him a show-white bull as a sign of approval. He was to scrifice the bull in honor of Poseidon but decided to keep it instead because of its beauty. To punish Minos, Poseidon let his wife fall in love with a bull from the sea. And that's how minotaurs are created (as told in the myth). Nari These creatures are from the Slavic legends. The Nari are ghost like souls of dead children. The Bulgarians speak of birds with the face of a child. Nari create a sound of a bird with somethimes a giggle of a child in it. It looks like a bird/child ghost that's very angry! Griffon This is a known creature that has the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. Both creatures are known as noble animals. This combination of the lion and eagle creates a very dangerious animal that can fly and destroy everything that comes in their path.  Other stuff to tell? Myth are just long stories that are about gods, strange animals and heroes that are created around the world in ancient times. It's a sort of fairy tale but with contents out of believe, heroetic actions and impressive happenings. The game itself will come out on Xbox 360, PC and Playstation so that people could play it on many platforms. Conclusion After a long talk about the mythology of our world, this preview comes to an end. We think that this could have game a very bright future if it's worked out like it should be (good of course). This mythical story brings a nice feeling with the game and we hope that the shooter has a great impact on the story itself. The graphics look okay but not high-end. Anyway, a good story can make a big difference. But we can only wait until it's release. We keep you up-to-date! Source: Productrating:
